4 Factors That Are Responsible For Increase In Childhood Obesity

It is one thing to see adults suffering from obesity, but it is much more disturbing to see that children also suffer from it. Unfortunately, this is happening all over the world, even in India.

Many children are receiving treatment for obesity in India, which is demanding as they are the next generation. To resolve a problem, you need to know the real reason for the problem. Here are four plausible reasons why childhood obesity is becoming a growing concern.

It's all in the gene

It's an excuse that we all try to use at some point in our lives for all of our problems. But, obesity is something that goes back to the gene. If your family has been obese for a long time, so will your children. But, you should also keep in mind that this also happens in a very rare case.

Parents are a guiding factor

Some doctors treating obesity say that obesity can occur in the family, not because of the gene but because of the parents. Parents are supposed to be a guide for their children to teach them how to lead their lifestyle. Many obese children have discovered that their parents are also obese. Every weekend, they go out to restaurants and spend a lot of time watching TV.

We often see that a 3-4 year old child, every time he goes out with his parents, starts to launch attacks against a pack of tokens. If you do not teach your children the importance of healthy eating and physical activity in their lives, it is their children who will suffer from an early age.

Unhealthy living environments

Today, with the increase of the population, the availability of empty spaces has considerably decreased. There are not many parks or swimming pools available in front of each house. Buildings built just off the road have no safe space for the movement of children. All of this has resulted in a sedentary lifestyle and children who cannot perform any type of physical activity. Over time, they tend to avoid it completely.

Any study and no game.

Most children spend at least 6 to 7 hours a day at their school, where they spend most of their time studying. Because of the competitive world, all teachers and parents tend to pressure children to study all day from an early age.

The pressure continues to increase during the duration of the exam, which lasts all year in most Indian schools. Then the kids end up studying hard and when they take a break, they prefer to watch TV or play video games in their spare time. All of this leads to a lot of mental activity, but not physical activity.

So even if you have a family history of obesity, your children are more likely to suffer from obesity as they also have a sedentary lifestyle. The first step in treating obesity should be to start physical activity and start eating healthy. If you want to encourage your children, you should do the same too, and very soon your children will follow.

Obesity is a disease that must be treated and we must make India a healthier nation. Stop obesity!
